"29025 Eveningside Drive" is a video made in collaboration between Katrin
Hornek and Stine Marie Jacobsen that deals with the banality and uncannyness
of everyday life in a surburban uniform housing area. Two neighbors meet
eachother at their empty mailboxes and say 'hello'. They walk simultaniously
through their houses and at the same time discover that the other is in the
house. They both walk to where they saw the other, only to discover that
the other is still in her own backyard. After this confrontation everything
becomes backwards and the two neighbors walk the same route backwards
until they again meet each other at the empty mailbox and say 'olleh'.
The scene is in an endless loop reminding one of the Sisyphus myth.
The video is a comment on architecture as a dominant and powerful structure
and looks at the different aspects of spatial constructed conditions and thereby
autonomous and independent structures.
